Berkoff's
Women from the works of Steven Berkoff directed
by Josie Lawrence

Out of her unique
association with Steven Berkoff, Linda Marlowe presents, "BERKOFF'S WOMEN",
a theatrical exploration of sensuality, revenge, pathos, heart-breaking loneliness
and riotous humour.
Having worked with Berkoff for over twenty years, this is a compilation of
some of the most rewarding, exciting moments of Berkoff's female roles, featuring
excerpts from "Decadence", "Greek", "East",
"Agamemnon", "Sturm Und Drang", plus a newly dramatised
story "From My Point of View".
"Marlowe is a consummate actress; gorgeous to look at, slinky and
sexy, sensual and impassioned, breathtakingly versatile. She can curse with
alluring and compelling charm! It was brilliant. A veritable tour de force."
-The Scotsman.
"Berkoff's tight onomatopoeic verse is ridden like a wild stallion!
It is a tribute to the genius of Berkoff and the awe inspiring greatness of
Linda Marlowe's acting" . - The List
"When she spreads her arms, she embraces the world. Her voice is
an instrument of silk and seduction, frayed at the edges and pickled in port"
-The Daily Mail
Diatribe
of Love
by Gabriel Garcia Marquez Translated
By Gwynne Edwards

Following the success
of Linda's first one woman show, "Berkoff's Women", "Diatribe
of love" is the perfect vehicle to display again her already proven virtuosity.
Written by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, renowned for such best selling novels as
"One Hundred Years of Solitude" and "Love in Time of Cholera",
"Diatribe" takes you on a psychological, spiritual and emotional
journey. Finding herself increasingly isolated and alone, in a loveless marriage,
Graciela examines her life with wit, pathos, irony and humour. It is a haunting
and poetic study of a woman's past and present dilemma.
"No Fear!" Devised by Linda Marlowe and Gavin Marshall.

On the eve of her hundreth birthday, the worlds oldest wire-walker looks back at her many careers as daring divorcee, raunchy rock-chick, undercover operator, Amazonian adventurer, manic mother and professional free spirit.
Based entirely on events in her real life, Linda Marlowe follows up her highly
acclaimed "Berkoffs Women" and "Diatribe of Love" with
her new solo piece presented through music, mime and monologue in her unique
physical style.

Linda Marlowe
Productions in association with Guildford’s Yvonne
Arnaud Theatre presents:
Mortal Ladies Possessed by
Matthew Hurt adapted from the short stories of Tennessee
Williams, directed by Stuart Mullins.
One of the greatest playwrights
of the twentieth century, Tennessee Williams is famous for his sensual and
lyrical plays – often centred around complex women. His short stories
bear all the trademark qualities of the plays. They focus on characters pushed
to the edge. Ladies, more often, full of desire, full of life – sometimes
powerful, always desperate.
In Mortal Ladies Possessed,Tennessee’s wild and evocative
stories have been adapted for the stage by Matthew Hurt; all the rage and
passion that appears in his prose creations has been brought to life in this
theatrical re-imagining of Tennessee’s little known masterpieces.
Escaping theNew Orleans heat in the basement of her dilapidated boarding house,
as her life slips away and her memory begins to fade, Widow Holly conjures
up the colourful and exotic guests that have passed through her doors. Sometimes
haunting, often hilarious, the many characters are brought to life in Linda
Marlowe’s unique physical style in her new solo show.

The Old Testament
God is a God of War. And War is a man’s game. But what of the
women?
To a modern sensibility tales of the Old Testament seem sexist and archaic.
But dig beneath the surface and what you find are stories that are profound
and shocking, even by today’s sensationalist tabloid standards.
BELIEVE is a contemporary retelling of 4 women’s tales
of war – traitor; widow; warrior; martyr.
From seduction, torture and decapitation to infanticide and rape, these are
women surviving in the most violent of times, women who have carved their
names into history.
